A partnership between Kinder Morgan and Keyera, the Base Line Terminal project includes 12 crude oil storage tanks providing 4.8 million barrels of capacity. The terminal services include pipeline receipt and delivery, tank to tank transfers, crude in-line blending, and in-tank heating and mixing. Located in Edmonton, AB beside Keyera’s Alberta EnviroFuels site, Kinder Morgan’s Base Line Terminal is situated on on 80 acres of land, connecting to Kinder Morgan’s storage and rail terminals.

Our involvement on this project included pipe insulation for a 2km stretch of 6 line pipe rack (24”, 30”, and 36” piping). Due to project delays, we significantly increased manpower and hours to compress the schedule and allow the client to start-up the terminal. At peak man hours, we had 110 craft onsite, working a total of 43,000 hours over 90 days.
